Panacur 10% paste

Looking for suggestions on worming with Panacur Equine. Can I use this on pups and what dosage amounts should I use. Any input welcome. Thanks, wd.

I use the SafeGuard version -- same thing as Panacur except around here Panacur cost alot more. (made by same company and if you compare the tubes packaging label, they are identical in wording except the SafeGuard and Panacur wording on package)

I use a puppy feed bottle and fill up with 100ml of water.

I empty tube of SafeGuard 25g into bottle and shake up.

I treat 1cc per 10lbs of body weight for 3 days in a row.

Thanks Buckshot

I've used Safeguard in the past but my local supplier has switched vendors. With the safeguard I would put about 1/2" of paste on my finger and wipe on my adult dog(s) tongue, seemed to work fine. Puppies I would use about 1/4" inch, once a month. Do you think Panacur would be the same? wd

Will this take care of Tape worms too?

Told my vet what I had ( 5 weak old walker) and he had me worm with Nemex once now and again in 2 weaks. Cost me a dollar this time about the same next time.
If you had a litter or two Panicure wouldbe a lot cheaper.
I just use the Safe gaurd goat wormer for my big dogs. Give it to them like percribed for a goat per lb. on the bottle. Works great and I give it once a month.

Takes care of a couple of types of tapeworms, but not the most common caused by fleas. You need praziquantel for those. Tapes are very easy to see in the stool. They look like grains of rice. I only treat those on an as needed basis. I may average one dog a year with tapes.
Everyone needs to know that the dosages for livestock and canines are totally different. For instance, in Safeguard Goat Wormer, the dosage for goats is 2.3 ml per 100 pounds. This is not anywhere near the clinical dosage for dogs. Dogs should receive 1.1 ml per 5 pounds (50 pound dog gets 11ml) for 3 days in a row.
