I never ever cut 2 of my dog together. The only time any dog that I have ever owned gets cut with another dog is in a nite hunt or occassionally with a buddy. I try to never keep more then 2 dogs.

Thats about it too. I own two dogs and half of another w/my buddy.
I have switched my dog food beacause of price. Not because I couldnt afford it but because the price went up and the bag size went down.

I've never met many hunters that could do more than 2 dogs justice. Between Dad & I we have 5. 2 older females, 2 young females, and young male pup. That is too many.
I've got a female ready to bred this weekend. I want to breed her in the worst way. I'd love to get a couple more litters out of her. But I don't need another pup, and the pup market seems poor. No sense in creating more unwanted dogs.

I've seen guys that only keep and hunt 1 dog take dogs that wouldn't make the grade for most folks and turn them into consistent winners. Being forced to only have one option to turn loose seems to be better in the long run for the dogs and the hunter.

I really think a Coonhunter, needs to have two hounds, that way if one is hurt, or in heat, he has the other one to hunt.

We love all our dogs, and consider them members of our family.
We have four Blueticks and a Newfoundland mix.

I would agree.. its easy enough for one to get killed while hunting, get sick or whatever when you just got one you can have nothing to hunt real quick.

LOL, unless you have 2 females come in at same time.....All my females cycle together but 1 -- which she's is in heat pen right now and of course she's the one I do not need to be in heat right now.

I am down to 2 coonhounds.

I have 8 bassets and hunt 4 at a time so basically 2 packs.

i have two feists that i hunt squirrels with. they live indoors. they're getting older. i hunt them together or i hunt one of them whenever i hunt my other dogs. i also have two curs. i use them for hunting squirrels and coons. i hunt them together and seperatly. i can hunt a cur and a feist at the same time and they don't interfer with each other.
if i allowed myself, i would have a pack of plotts and one or two of all the colors. i love all of them. yea, they're like lays potato chips.
