i am not familiar with the blazer set up, but some have a wire that hooks up to the charger, and somewhere that wire is in contact with the hot wire to the switch, that is why the light comes on with the charger pluged in.
Check the battery output with a meter. batteries are easy to replace, but expensive. also check the input to the battery from the charger.
