How many dogs that have won the Purina Race won World Champion

Just wondering if any dog have done this. It seems like every year we hear of all the dogs doing so well in the Purina Race and at the end. A dog that we don't here much of or anything about wins the UKC World hunts. I guess it goes to show that there are good hounds tied in the back yard that are world contenders that don't get their just due. Hmmmm.

True, Elmo. Jaggs came real close this year. He placed fourth, and I would have loved to see him on the final cast. No one on his cast friday night scored on a coon. He had 225 circle. I think Crow Hill Candy came close the year she won the Purina race, placing second in the world....I think...

I just checked and three dogs have done it. Rebel in '81, Rock River Banjo in '82, and Magic in '85. Candy came the closest most recently in '96 placing 1st in Purina and 2nd in the World.

Thanks

I didn't remember any and there is very few of them. Maybe dogs and handlers are tired after running the roads and all. Maybe it does take the steam out of a person who has been gone almost every weekend driving and hunting. Who knows. Congrats to all who have competed and just remember you can't win if you don't go.
