75 +

If you had declared a split tree, and the judge accepted your call then 125+

Correct but I think this should be changed, Say I declare my dog split and we get into the tree and both dogs are together. Well now im minused 125 because Dog A was treed first but yet I know it moved to my dog and now stole my points.

When a dog is declared treed for 125 and another dog is declared treed for 75 that dog that treed first should have to be seen on the tree with the dog for 75! the dog that treed for 75 should automatically be bumped up to 125.

I was in a cast once where a guy had treed his dog 3 times and it kept moving well the third time he treed his dog I treed mine in that general direction. Went to my dog found the coon and the judge awarded me 75. Get my point now?

Treberta,
Unless your the judge you can not declare your dog split treed. You tree second you get second (75). I don't think you should be bumped up. Dog A just took 125- what more do you need to win?

If my or youre' dog treed the coon then they deserve 125! And you're not just hunting against 1 other dog, usually that is.

If your not sure they were spilt, a dog backing another dog should never get bumped to 125 in my book. I have seen a lot of dogs tree in for 125 and leave. You really should have a big smile for Dog A leaving and your dog staying and be happy with that.

In the situation you described 75 is all you are going to get and 75 is all you deserve. If it was not declared a split tree before you went to it, then it is scored as a single tree.

It IS automatically bumped to 125 (if it is split and on a different tree).

The point I get is you want your dog to get points it don't deserve. It appears your dog is lacking speed and has a habit of treeing behind the others. Get a better dog and you wont have to worry about.

How do you know yourdog treed the coon? He might have just backed the other dog and the other dog quit.
Dog A gets 125- and you get 75+; that, a 200 point spread; lots of casts I'll take 200 and just stay at the club house. Tom

"125 points for dog DECLARED treed first"

You don't get 125 for being the dog that treed the coon first. You get it for being the first dog called treed.

Dog/handler......50/50.
