Walnuts & night crawlers

My uncle was telling me the other day that if you soak the shell coating from walnuts in water and then dump the water on the ground, night crawlers will immediately come to the surface.

Anybody heard of this or tried it??

Andy

Thanks, I didn't know it will kill them.
Kind of a neat trick, I'll have to try it next time I am ready to go fishing.

You can do the same thing with a bucket of soapy dish water and it doesnt take as long and wont kill the worms.

This works good, I've done it before. As far as the Walnuts I have three large walnut trees in my yard and the walnuts are on the ground now and every night there are nightcrawlers laying all around them. They're not dying though.

That is true, but as he asked ,when you use the black hulls and add water it will bring them right up and kill them in nearly concetrate forms and enough water to raise them.
They will also walk out of the ground if its to wet, they need to breath.
