Its Quite on comp questions so heres one.

4 Dog cast Where just going to worry about dogs A and Dog B. All dogs cut on last drop 13 minutes left in hunt, No strikes heard out of any dogs for a least 9 minutes. Handler B keeps asking the judge I think I hear my dog deep North West. Judge asked handler B if wants to strike him, no answer from him. They walk slow same direction. Handler B asked judge again if he hears that dog deep, Handler B says I believe its my dog but I want the judge to hear him, Judge says I hear him do you want to strike your dog. No answer. About this time Dog A strikes in which is the judges dog, Handler B Strikes as soon as Dog A opens left handed, Judge says thats my dog (Dog A), and your minused for 100 because its dog A. 4 minutes left to hunt. But he does not write it down on card because handler B blows up about it being his dog, and in the confusion the time runs out and after the hunt is over the judge decides he wants to question the strike. Obviously the judge should of wrote down the 100- right away, when is to late to question?

Dogs A and B are close in points dog B is ahead by 50+.

That's what I was wondering...... I'd be praying we were in a dry hole.

Rule 4(J) would of took care of dog B.
The judge should not of been soliciating calls from any competitor.
He should of been appling the rules, in this case 4(J).
I'm sure with 13 min. left to hunt he knows(he should know) what B dog sounds like.

Now A dog opens and B gets struck in. No wonder a problem develops.
It's to late to ? the call after the hunt is over.Regardless of whatever the reason. This judge clearly was not qualified.

POOR JUDGEING SKILLS lead to messes like this one.

I am not sure why he wanted to get ahead further 2 things I can think of off the cuff is he either didn't know where he was in points. On the other hand I think he was trying to Gamble a first strike out of the deal.

This actually happened.

Dog B had only opened twice. So 4j was not an option. The judge should of stuck with his minus call and let the handler question it.

"because handler B blows up"
Handler B is gone. You blow up, you get scratched.

Bad handling and bad judging I think 9 out of the 13 is gone before any dog is heard. If I thought it was mine i would of struck him on the first time I heard him. Because the 8 was not going to be a factor with only 4 minutes remaining.

Jim is absolutely right. I was not on this cast. There was only two options minus or scratch the dog B. I thought the the question was asked a little late.
