I have a farm that I run my beagles on close to my house. The rabbits use to circle back to me all the time. Now it seems like every time I jump one they leave out of there normal areas and go way off. sometimes i cant even here the dogs. most of the time the dogs will end up over in the next hollow or ridge then come to a screehing halt and its over. my pups have gotten alot faster. could this be because they are pushing them so hard that the rabbits are going strait to a hole rather than continue to run? My dogs are heavy branko bred "turbo". Whats going on here guys? Another scenario Im getting into is the dogs jump the rabbit run like hell for about 50 yds and shut up for a minute then fire up like there gonna take him out of the country go another 50 and stop then do it again over and over. my female is pretty hot nosed and usally the rabbit has to be up before she will bark. When this happens she is hammering. So i know its a hot track. I cant figure it out. Do u think the rabbits are getting wiser or what?

can only go on hare experiance here but the harder your dogs push them the farther out they will go, hares do not hole up .one question I have when rabbits were making the circles you liked was it with the same dogs?

those windsp;itters are driving them sooo fast they going straight to hole on the stop n go they are over running the track then picking it back up thats the fault of having windsplitters

Yes you can over run a spot,
I have a 10-15 acre patch that is full of rabbits, all my buddies like to run pups there ALOT as well as myself, it gets ran atleast 4-5 times a week and YES the rabbits hole fast sometimes, Once a rabbit gets his hair ran off over and over they start to get smart and just go down.
Try slacking off a couple weeks and see if it makes a difference.
I usually shut my spot off for a week or so before a Big hunt and it sure seems to help.
The 50 yrd and blow up thing could be small rabbits or just bad senting conditions. The tracking been bad here for several weeks, not sure if its something to do with the grass and underbrush dying off or what?
