Whats the differance?

I grew up hunting competition with beagles, but did some coonhunting with a dog of mine and my buddies.

Whats the differances between a walker, black and tan, bluetick and redbone? besides the obvious?

I have heard people say that their bluetick hunts more like a walker, and other stuff like that.

so whats the differance?

Old standards of how each breed used to hunt. Now days you find about the same things in every breed. I heard a guy say he didn't like walkers because they were slick treeing idiots. I have since proved him wrong and changed his opinion. I have hunted with people who won't hunt a bluetick because they think all are slow moving track dogs. If you hunt with enough of each breed you will find really good and really bad ones in all breeds. It is mainly a choice of what line of breeding you like. Some lines of walkers are harder tree dogs, some are better track dogs and not so hard on the tree. To make a long story short, there is not alot of differences between the breeds, it is more of a difference between the bloodlines of each breed.
