Here's another one guys!!!!
Calling holes on tracks that only have a few barks, or even if its a loss, By reading the rule as stated, every track that is lost should be circled regardless of being lost or put in a hole or place of refuge. I think I know what they mean, but then again, maybe I've been doing it wrong. What do you all think.
In the rule it says the cast must make an attempt to locate hole. not actually saying that it has to find one. Example, all dogs are struck in, and track is at a loss, and this is a hunt where you need points or a top 4 score to move on. In this case , just look for a hole, and regardless of finding one, say, well, this briar patch or fence line, or whatever, etc. is a place of refuge, yep they do live here and then just circle the strikes. Thats bs. But that is how the rule states.
It should say the cast must make an attempt and locate a hole or place of refuge. or dogs show the hole. No wonder we have so many problems with the hole situation. I know we've all been in hunts where the guide says, okay, theres holes over there, lets circle it, I understand. Maybe, but still these rules should be clarified a little. We can always find a hole or place of refuge. Atleast I can tell when a track is at a loss or not. Some people abuse this rule so they can candy coat there dogs with a degree or trophy or a win. so what.
a. In case of running into a hole or place of refuge, a rabbit that has not been seen by the majority of cast or the non-hunting Judge (cast must make an attempt to locate hole, majority of cast or non-hunting Judges decision).
