Predator VS. Smart light

Has anybody compared the two???? That $150 Smart light sure looks appealing.

Not tried the predator

but I got a smart light and I found every coon found at the Ky State championship this weekend. I can't see how you can go wrong with the smart light. I love mine and the guys at smart light will treat you right. Not knocking the predator because i havent used or seen one but paying nearly double for the predator would be crazy. Oh yeah, my smart light is brighter than the blazer square led head. The blazer one puts out more light but the smart light puts tighter spot that is brighter. They also have a spot light you can get thats un matched in brightest as far as the led lights go. As you can tell, I light the smart light.

Still waiting for someone on one of these light posts to say they have seen the predator and the smart light side by side in a tree and which one is brighter? something would have to be alot better about the predator to make it worth a hundred bucks more. Guess i will wait until they have been out there a while.

I have seen them side by side on a couple different occasions. there is not any noticible difference in the light brightness at all.

I like the smart light better because it distributes the weight better on your head having the batteries on the back of the helmet.

What i dont like about both of these lights is that the light patterent is too tight and you the inability to adjust it. I guess if a guy hunted every night with it you would get used to that part.

I have seen both and used one of them and to me they are a step backwards. Neither is as bright as a 21 volt wheat head. Neither allows any adjustment of the beam. Where do you plug in the spotlight? You don't! The only thing the LED's have going for them is lightweight and longer use time between charges. Comes the day I can't pack 2 pounds of belt light I'm done. And I have never had my light go dead in the woods. Never.

i like the fact that with these beltless lights you don't have the struggles with the seatbelts, or the leashes pulling on the cord making the hat slide around..and at the heartland classic i had a tree limb hook my cord as i was sliding down a river bank and pull my cord out of my battery.. thats when i decided i was getting a cordless light.. i have a predator and its a step up from my cajun light...if i can't find the coon with this i'll make an appointment with the eye doctor because the smart light and the predator throw enuff light for shining trees.

Well said. The freedom of not having a cord running down to a battery pack on your side is probably my favourite thing about the Predator light. I knew this light did'nt throw off as much light as my 22 volt belt light, the beam on these led lights are tighter and the light is white. It's funny but after using it the first time and jumping back into my truck to move, my headlights seemed quite yellow to me, hence, the different kind of light. My Predator stays in the coffee holder of my dash just about all the time, this light is not only great for coon hunting, you can use it for just about anything where a nice compact light is needed.

I bought the Predator at Autumn Oaks. I have used it a little while and I do like it. No more cords being pulled around by my leeds. Very light weight and holds a charge for a long time.
Just like the Garmins, LED lights are the future.

Jim

The spot light you can get with the smart light is much smaller than a normal spot light and its an led too. I like that you don't half to plug it up because how many times do you fight with it while walking through the woods. You can even put a pop cover lens on the spot light and it adjust up and down. Its by far better than a regular spot light. Don't get me wrong, the old style lights still get the job done but why would you pay more for one of them when you can get the smart light package for half the price. Everybody has the right to choose what ever they like but for the money its the best light. Oh yeah, if there their you really don't need a big light, lol. I'm not trying to make anyone mad or stir anything just stating what I've seen and I have used just about every kind of light on the market, its kinda like I was trying to find something better but I think I've got it and I'm sure this light will keep getting better.

Wish someone would just come out with a real good LED head with a jack that would plug into my 21 volt K lite. Dont like the looks of the pro head and its to pricey. I dont mind the tight beam, first thing i do when i turn my light on is to adjust to the tightest beam i can get anyway. I like my K lite but these adcon heads are junk. Every time i blow a bulb it seems to be about 30 seconds after the judge starts shine time.
