It has been my experience that if a gyp takes too long between pups, I give her a 1/2 cc of Oxcytocin to stimulate the uterus to contact and produce more productive labor. A whelping should never run more them a day long. You are risking her life and the lives of the pups, both born and unborn. If she has a pup that dies inside her and holds up the rest, that dead pup will set up infection and will turn your gyp septic. Go to a local farmer that milks cows and get you some oxcytocin. I always get 3cc and use it in 1/2cc doses. Give it IM (in the hip) and walk you gyp around on a lead. You should start to see contractions. I give this even after the gyp is done whelping, to help her pass any placentas that may still be inside her and will cause an infection that can kill her. She will get an inner uterine infestion and die very fast. If this is a valuable dog, don't wait, go to the vet and I mean NOW. This is not normal. The best he can say is she is done and send her home, the worst is she will need a c-section and yes, that can run into money, but is losing her and the pups all about money?
