I usually get the cast together and inform them that the juidges light is going up to make a determination and invite all cast members to take the same look. But two trees or one is a decision for the judge to make. That's how I do it.
Jim,
Thats my feelings on the right way to do it as well. Sometimes I do it that way to, its what I ment by bullying my way through, but for the sake of argument if a handler that has 1st tree pushes the point, I will let them have there 2 minutes once in awhile.
Just depends on how close the trees are, and I have never had my decision either way go back to the club as a ?.
It does bring up an interesting point I dont remember being covered before.
Can a judge shine to make a ruling without shinetime running, and what about a handlers right to be the first one to shine.
Lets say I hit that tree with full beam in the summertime, and just happen to hit ol slantface smack in the face while Im trying to decide if its a split tree or 1 tree. Ol slantface dont like that and never looks agian...........................
