Sick Dog

I need some help with one of my dogs! He is a 2 year old Male that looked really good up untill about 4 Months ago. He started Loosing weight and having really loose bloody stools. He has not lost his appitiet but has a serious loss of energy. I have taken him to 2 different vets and they have checked him over for all types of worms and everything else and they cant seem to find anything . I keep him on concrete and clean the pen daily, I noticed when washing the pen it seems to be small pieces of flesh in his stool also. Has anybody else had a dog with anything like this. Thanks for the help

likely misspelled but maybe erlickia, a blood bacteria similar to anaplas in cattle spread by ticks. vet can test for it, tetracycline i think is indicated for treatment. maybe. seems to be more of this going around, my buddy's dog had it.

I had one do the same thing. Vets said the same thing..."No worms"..

Come to find out she did have worms that the wormer they gave me didnt kill.

Those pieces of flesh you are seeing is his stomach.

Thanks for the reply I will ask my vet about it today. I have also noticed that his stool is really Acidic to the point that the concrete is bleached where the pile is after washing it away.

Their are Two items I would try "Neomycin Lquid" and "Scour-Halt" by Spectam ..

This sounds Very Sim. to Parvo .. Maybe a Flesh Eating Bacteral or
Even a Sub E-Coli.

These are a few things to keep on hand at all Times ..

Here also is a link to a Thread that has saved many pups ..

http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthrea...ht=Battle+Parvo

This is My PARVO Kit.. And if used as discribe in the Above Thread

Will work within 24 hours of the first Sign of PARVO

Thanks for everyones help. I have spent about $700.00 in vet bills so far and none of them can tell me what is wrong with him and I have had him at 2 different vets one of which kept him for over a week. I started to notice him getting sick right after the spring super stakes this year. I will try to post before and after pics tonight

Thanks again

Taylor Lee
