Fun to see how these statistics corollate and wonder just what they mean. Here are some stats on teen pregnancy rates that I saw today that I found interesting. The states were ranked in order of highest rate of teen pregnancy to lowest:
Mississippi 1 1
New Mexico 2 22
Texas 3 12
Arkansas 4 7
Arizona 5 33
Oklahoma 6 10
Nevada 7 34
Tennessee 8 4
Kentucky 9 9
Georgia 10 11
Louisiana 11 5
Alabama 12 2
South Carolina 13 3
North Carolina 14 8
District of Columbia 15 *
Wyoming 16 *
Missouri 17 16
Florida 18 23
West Virginia 19 13
Alaska 20 46
Colorado 21 41
Indiana 22 17
Kansas 23 15
Delaware 24 27
Hawaii 25 18
South Dakota 26 21
Ohio 27 26
California 28 37
Montana 29 20
Illinois 30 31
Idaho 31 14
Oregon 32 38
Virginia 33 19
Utah 34 6
Michigan 35 29
Maryland 36 25
Nebraska 37 24
Washington 38 35
Iowa 39 32
Pennsylvania 40 28
Wisconsin 41 40
Minnesota 42 36
Rhode Island 43 43
North Dakota 44 30
Maine 45 47
New York 46 42
New Jersey 47 39
Connecticut 48 44
Massachusetts 49 45
Vermont 50 49
New Hampshire 51 48
Note that the of the twenty states with the highest teen pregnancy rates almost all were states that vote Republican. Of the 20 states with the lowest rates almost all vote Democrat.
This study done by CDC was actually a study looking for corollation between "religiousity" and teen pregnancy rates. The second column [behind states] is their ranking of how religious each state is. Note that generally speaking the more religious a state is, the higher the rate of teen pregnancy. Anyone want to take a stab at why that is?

Maybe because even though they are getting pregnant they at least have enough love and conviction in their heart to not have an abortion? While the least religious states have all the teens that get pregnant, don't tell parents or anyone, and go have the baby aborted? I don't know, just a thought.

Post Turtle.......

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, whose hand was caught in_
the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man._

Eventually the topic got around to Obama.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a_'Post Turtle''.

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was._
The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come
across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain._
'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he_
doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of_
dumb ass put him up there to begin with'._

note that just like "global warming" guesstimates, the data on this is weakly correlated. abotion rates likely would figure in but we don't have to speculate on the democrat mayor or governor stats. i already said to you you could move to the east to detroit, most all of "my kind of thinkers"(of every race, i've met several folks now living in ms. that left it to the tax thieves and TOLD me they left for that very reason) have left it and it's bankrupt schools and pie in the sky dem dreams. it's hard to finance those things when you don't have any taxPAYERS left. i wonder if the mayor in detroit hopes some more of "my kind" of thinkers leave that area?

"religiousity" ??? wow truly, you a bill marr AND stuart smalley devotee? there are better thinkers available to read and listen to then comedians. i couldn't even be considered "deeply religious" and consider myself tolerant of anybodies religious believes, including atheists, but bill marr is a "hater" and it's obvious. i guess you also consider micheal moore and his intense hate of this country as also somebody to be listened to? seems micheal moore got just what he asked for in detriot/ flint
in that first piece of class warfare trash he committed to celluloid years ago... moore's "enemies" are almost all gone now, but surprise, surprise, so are most of the jobs. i figure it has helped swell the potential acorn recruits though, but who's left for acorn to bleed and picket?

acorn, acorn, who's got the acorn?

Finally MS is # 1 at something!!! LMAO!!!! I've lived here all my life and wouldn't even consider moving to anywhere else. Lots of people look down on us Mississippians b/c evidently we are all poor compared to the rest of the states. And what else is there to do when you are poor? Stay at home and practice making babies instead of going out for a night on the town!!! LMAO!!!!

my 2 cents worth

TOP 10 POOREST STATES, THEIR PERCENT UNDER POVERTY LEVEL, AND THE LAST 10 GOVERNOR’S PARTY’S.

Mississippi- 20.6% 2 Republicans and 8 Democrats (80% DEMS)
Louisiana- 18.6% 3 ˝ Republicans and 6 ˝ Democrats (one Governor changed parties during his stay in office from Rep to Dem) (66.5% DEMS))
New Mexico- 18.1% 4 Republicans and 6 Democrats (60% DEMS)
Arkansas- 17.9% 2 Republicans and 8 Democrats (80% DEMS)
Kentucky- 17.3% 2 Republicans and 8 Democrats (80% DEMS)
Alabama- 16.9% 3 Republicans and 7 Democrats (70% DEMS)
West Virginia- 16.9% 4 Republicans and 6 Democrats (60% DEMS)
Texas- 16.3% 4 Republicans and 6 Democrats (60% DEMS)
Oklahoma- 15.9% 4 Republicans and 6 Democrats (60% DEMS)
Tennessee- 15.9% 3 Republicans and 7 Democrats (70% DEMS)

Now my good friends, I am not an overly educated man but when you look at the Top Ten poorest cities and EACH has been under Democrat control for a considerable time and then look at the Top Ten poorest states and EACH of them has had the Democrats control for the majority of time for their last 10 Governors it tells me something. To each there own but my friends as I have clearly proven by my last two e-mails the proverbial “writing is on the wall”!!! You can either learn from it or keep ignoring it and wearing blinders and hope it all gets better.

THE WORKING CLASS CITIZENS FROM THESE BLUE COLLAR STATES HAVE BELIEVED THE DEMOCRATS PROMISE TO HELP THE “WORKING MAN” BUT ALL IT’S GOTTEN THEM IS ON TO THE TOP TEN OF THE MOST POVERY STRICKEN LIST. IT REALLY IS A SHAME.

Mississippi 1 1
New Mexico 2 22
Texas 3 12
Arkansas 4 7
Arizona 5 33
Oklahoma 6 10
Nevada 7 34
Tennessee 8 4
Kentucky 9 9
Georgia 10 11
Louisiana 11 5
Alabama 12 2
South Carolina 13 3
North Carolina 14 8
District of Columbia 15 *
Wyoming 16 *
Missouri 17 16
Florida 18 23
West Virginia 19 13

Hawaii 25 18
South Dakota 26 21
Ohio 27 26
California 28 37
Montana 29 20
Illinois 30 31
Idaho 31 14
Oregon 32 38
Virginia 33 19
Utah 34 6
Michigan 35 29
Maryland 36 25
Nebraska 37 24
Washington 38 35
Iowa 39 32
Pennsylvania 40 28
Wisconsin 41 40
Minnesota 42 36
Rhode Island 43 43
North Dakota 44 30
Maine 45 47
New York 46 42
New Jersey 47 39
Connecticut 48 44
Massachusetts 49 45
Vermont 50 49
New Hampshire 51 48
Note that the of the twenty states with the highest teen pregnancy rates almost all were states that vote Republican. Of the 20 states with the lowest rates almost all vote Democrat.
This study done by CDC was actually a study looking for corollation between "religiousity" and teen pregnancy rates. The second column [behind states] is their ranking of how religious each state is. Note that generally speaking the more religious a state is, the higher the rate of teen pregnancy. Anyone want to take a stab at why that is?

Actually..Most of those top ranking states are ran by Dem Governors.

the answer to this post is simple.......

the areas listed are all inner CITY's.....full of democratic minded CITY folks.

that is the reason theyre so poor...its easier to vote democrat than to go GET a job...i see help wanted signs at mcdonalds all the time...just because you dont want a job dont mean you cant find one.....
