what do you think ??

should UKC raise the performance fee from $25. to $50. on litter registeration ?

from $25. to $50. on pup performance registeration ?

the reason i ask this question is with performance point payout getting lower would you be in favor of raising rates to raise performance point payout ??

Nope. It is what it is, leave it alone.
And what it is....is the most successfull breeders program in the competion coonhunting game. More owners have collected checks than in any other KC, more studs are nominated and more pups are paid up. You don't jack with that kind of success.

As it is now it costs over 40$ to register and performance a pup, I don't want to pay any more than that.

jim, i feel the same way about the performance program. its the best & most fair for everybody. if we play the game we can all get a check !! i'm still happy with the payout. i really dont want to see point values real high but would like to see it stay about $200. per point.

i think the performance sire fee should remain the same because you can afford to pay up a sire just in case & not breed it for $100.

virgil, $41. is a pretty cheap investment for the life of the dog. $66. is a cheap investment for the life of a dog if rate went up $25.. i'm all for spending as little as posible to register a dog but this is a one time payout for.
say your dog wins three 1st at 1 point apiece & 5 ntch.wins at 1 point apiece at $200 a point thats $1600. same wins IF point value goes to $100 a point is $800.

now i dont know if a $25 increase would bring point value up that much or not but if it did, i'm all for it !!

$25 more doesn't sound like much, but it will cause some people to stay out.

Another perspective is I pay the litter fee and the per pup fee on all pups I produce. Raise it $25 a pup and I might have to re-think paying up whole litters.

This program will be changing for the first 10-15 years before it stabilizes. I wouldn't be against raising fees at some point but lets let this thing get to where its going to be before messing around with it, much.

One thing I don't believe we will see is the diehard comp. hunters dropping out because it continues to make sense for them. Its the ones on the edge that you may lose if you're not careful. So the program needs to be attractive for them.
