Off Colored Dogs

I need to know, why can't off colored walkers be registered? If the dogs Sire and Dam is registered, why can't their pup? Just because he is off colored? I've read in the rule book and all I can find is it says that an off colored walker will be penalized in shows. Can someone please shine some light on this problem for me?

here's a good post in regards...

to questioning on "cross bred" hounds. when does color become less of an issue? is color the only thing separating a breed of coonhound? i've got an english male owned by a good friend. he's a reproducer! should i cross him to my "pr" bluetick ? it's been done. no...i'm not for single registration or cross breeding. my opinion...i like that "PR"...

I'm sorry

I read the title of the post and I thought this was going to be a discussion on anything that wasn't blue and ticked.

Off Colored Walkers:

My hubby's uncle had a walker female. She was typical open-spotted dog. He raised 3 litters of pups out of her, and at least one out of every litter, was a "blue-gray" walker. I myself thought that they were pretty. They always looked the same, Gray head, white body, and gray spot on its but. Every one of them made coon dogs though.

Definately unique! Kinda like the calico eared dogs. You just don't see alot of them!!
