He Did It !!
HE DID IT !!
We set out at the beginning of this year to finish Tracker to GRAND in the Water Race & Field Trial events. We won a bunch and lost a few. The hard part for Tracker was not in performing the events, but for us to get him to the events. There have been lots of miles put on the ole hound hauler this spring & summer, but now the job is done ! It took Sam, myself and even the kids to help Tracker along the way. He made several of his wins @ some of the larger events held this summer. Just to name a few, he won Over-All @ the Indiana State Youth Championships & the ILL State Youth Championships in the Water Race Event. He made Grand Champion in the water race @ Black & Tan Days this year. He also made Grand Field Champ @ Plotts Days this past weekend. Not to say that he did his best at every competition. But I can say, we set our goals for these TWO 'Grand titles" to be made before Autumn Oaks this year & by golly, HE DID IT !!
I have reframed from showing him for his last Champion bench win to GRAND SHOW until we got these two titles in WATER & FIELD earned. It's now time to get this last show win and now see if Tracker is gonna have what it takes to earn his next title in the NIGHT HUNTS. This is our ULTIMATE GOAL for Tracker. Being that we do not competition nite hunt ourselves, this one has been put on hold until we got ALL of our other goals done first. Now, it's time to COWBOY UP, and get the job done !!
To alot of peoples surprise, Tracker won CHAMPION MALE REDBONE @ AUTUMN OAKS in 2007 with his previous owner. I have held this last Champion to Grand win on the bench with Tracker not because he can't win it, but because it is gonna be the easiest one to win. Where will it be won? Who knows. He will be showing one more time before AO. If he wins, so be it. If he doesn't, then we will give him one more shot at AO this year. Even if he doesn't win again at AO, I could care less. I know that Tracker is laughed at and mocked because of his size and his white toe nails. So, AO is gonna be one BIG order to fill, for my not so BIG boy with pretty toes. I don't expect for him to win @ AO, but they will all know he is there and we will have a great time trying!! There will be so many other nice hounds that have also worked very hard this year & I am looking so forward to seeing all of our friends we have made along the year.
Is Tracker THE best? HECK NO, but, he is OUR best. Tracker is my winner, win or loose! I guaranty that everyone that has met us and Tracker along this journey knows how much we love this hound.
I do want to thank everyone that has helped me and the kids when we have been on the road alone without Sam this summer. I am horrible at names. But, if you happen to read this, you know who you are. It has taken Sam having to stay home and work several weekends to be able to afford for us to drive the long distances to these events. Also, with both of my folks having major health issues this past year. It has taken my brother to fill in for me on the weekends here at home taking care of them while I have chased these titles. I have been blessed that Tracker has had so many wonderful folks, that have been so willing to help us pull this off. THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH!!
Sorry to babble on, I just couldn't sleep from the excitement of accomplishing our first goals this past weekend with our first competitive Redbone Hound !
