They should be able to track the IP address from each post.
Each computer hooked to the internet has its own. Some change each time you turn on connection, others are constantly the same. Mine changes but it usually stays in a certain range. Normally the IP addresses do not vary to a great extent, but the "geeks" over at UKC as you called them would be able to determine if those posts in question PROBABLY were made by you.
Now all that being said, someone could still use their own account and go to a library or use friends pc to make malicious posts. The IP's in that type of situation would definitely not match then, or be remotely close.
In other words, even though the IP would be different, they still could not prove that it was you or anyone else who made the posts in question. They only know that the post was made by your account.
I can vouch for you though. When we have talked on the phone and here on line, I haven't seen or heard a cross word from you.
