Garmin Long Range Attenas

Any on usin the new ones? These are telescoping and fold up. They stay connected all the time, so you dont have to carry those huge black ones around.

i called one dealer and he told me not to waste my money, he stated that it doesn`t get much more range than the rubber antenna.

I don't know who the dealer was that told the man they didn't work any better than the rubber ones but I'll bet the rubber ones was all he had to sell. I've been using one for a couple of months now and it is far better than the rubber one. I have tested mine and I've gotten 2.2 miles with it and I never got anywhere even close to that with the small rubber one. No doubt the roof mount is the best but I'm not always at the truck.

How much to metal anteneas cost? I'm assuming it's for the GPS unit, not the collars.

I paid $37.92 plus shipping for the handheld long range antenna. Like the other guys said, it does add considerable range. I just received mine and would like to test it more but am happy with what I've seen so far.

.

Matt called me right after I received some and my advice was to wait a while as I wasn't getting the performance out of them that others were claiming. They increased my range about 1/2 mile but when we tested them on my buddies receiver they increased the range about a mile. As it turns out my receiver must be going bad as I cannot get much out of the rubber antenna either.
You can go to the classified board and see the ones I have for sale.

.

Some people say put smaller ID numbers and some say larger ID numbers. I add and delete so many collars to my astro that I have not tested either theory. I would think each astro would be a little different since they work on slightly differrent frequencies.
