My kennel shed is an old 12'x20' wood granery. I cleaned it out, insulated and lighted it. Installed two 5'x5' kennels inside at each end of this building. Each interior kennel exits through a flap door into a 10'x20' exterior run. Added some windows, new siding and roofing, and a modern walk door.

It's very nice in the middle of the cold winter when I'm out of town overnight on a work assignment and I need my family to take care of my dogs for a day or two. Good luck with your project.

Has anyone used these New Mtl Carports ??? Heck you could take one of the Two Car $700 one buy a Roll of 5' Chain Link some Gates Sections and put one up in a Weekend .. You could make a covered 4 or 6 Bay kennel.. Easy Easy ...

Here's a link to a Major Vendor

http://www.carportgallery.com/

Heck you can Enclose one End with Metal siding and Extend open Runs out from it .. Gezz Lots of Quick Ideas !!

On the inside of that kennel do you have FRP paneling on the wall? Just curious trying to figure what was used.

Luaun paneling on the top half of the walls. Washable PVC paneling on the bottom half of the wall. The PVC panel is double walled with a honeycomb structure between the two layers.

The floor is layered from the bottom up: original tongue/groove pine, 2" rigid foam board for insulation, 3/4" floor board, vapor barrier, topped with rubber horse stall mats, screwed through, and sealed on their edges with silicone.

6 inches fiberglass insulation in walls and 12 inches in ceiling.

A basic do it yourself rebuild of an old building that would otherwise go to waste. Thanks for the comments.

heated in winter to keep water buckets open...no plans, the only thing to curb the imagination will be the pocketbook.

Man that is a nice set up. I thought of something like that made out of a portable car port with the shed in the middle and the runs half way under the roof and half way out.

yes the tops open. it stays around 40 degrees inside when its
really cold out (below 0) i tried flaps and such over the holes, but they wont leave them
alone. in the coops its probably 20-30 degrees....still better than
minus teens.i ran hot water from my wood boiler up to the kennel for the heat.

dan.
