im about to get my first beagle i've had coon dogs for awhile and now getting a beagle and i dont have a clue how to train one... the pup im getting is just now 5 weeks old so i belive i have some time but need to know how to get him ready

Well it's alot like training a coon dog. At least it's a start. I know there quite a few beagle clubs down in Georgia I've been down there a couple times for some events. Take it out, get it used to being in woods, and try to encourage it on rabbits. Maybe look around talk to some guys, and try to find a starting pen, but it's always more fun to start you're first dog in the wild in my opinion. Google Top 100 hunting beagle websites do some browsing on that, and i'm sure you'll find someone in you're area who might be able to help out!

Oh yeah almost forgot a man by the name of Aubrey Holcombe that guy has forgotten more about raising beagles than I will ever learn! He lives in Georgia I met him once invited a few of us to his house to hang out and talk he's got a great set up don't know if he starts for the public or not, but he's on that website i referred you too maybe you can try to get ahold of him for some advice! He might be one of the best guys i've ever met in the game!!!! can't remember what area he lives in....i'm thinking mid Georgia...????lol They call him "Daddy Rabbit"
