Sportman like conduct

What has happened to the sportmanship? Last weekend at a night hunt, (4 dog cast ) two out of the four refused to shine the tree when the dogs came treed. I know in the rules it says that who ever trees first can have the first 2 min. alone, not shine the hole 10 min. by yourself. Also I was told in another night hunt that a young mans light quit working his dog split treed and not any of the other cast would lone him a light or even try to find the coon for him. Matter of fact a man loned him a 3 cell flashlight and he shined the tree alone, his dog split 3 times that night and no help. But when any of the other cast members dogs came treed, guess what that young man was in there with his 3 cell light trying to find there coon for them. I don't mind getting beat by a better dog but I do my best to try to find a coon whether i'm getting beat or not. Does this happen alot? Thats enough to make anyone give up comp hunting.

wow

nice to know there is at least one left! I have seen and heard of a lot of utterly discusting behavior in the woods and if their mothers/grandmothers were there they would be whipped with a switch of their pickin! Sportsman ship does not mean give up on competition... it does mean be respectable and god help those that are not. I am only 35, but I have had respect pounded into me from day 1! so if I missed 1 lesson, I had many more to recall upon later in life. Just dont ever let yourself stoop to there level and may your light always shine bright Sandi
