try this one...

http://www.esutures.com/brands.asp?expired=1

If it doesn't work google, "esutures." Funny, if you need a stapler, your dogs or even fellow hunters won't quibble over expired material... Besides, they're sealed in sterile packages.

We carry one in the dogbox at all times....We never used to but then one night while we were hunting this past winter, our male dog cut the pastern on his right, front foot. It was a horizontal cut, with the skin laid wide open. It was a short track and a quick coon, we watched the whole thing. On the way into the tree, there was a bunch of broken bottles, scrap metal and trash. Also noticed a blood trail. We got to the tree and thought there had been a fight because of all the blood, we never heard one break out so we got to investigating and found the wound. Well, he was bleeding like a stuck hog and we were very lucky it didn't hit the tendon. We got him back to the house of the man we were hunting with, we were only 25 minutes from the house. He'd forgotten to pack the first aid kit, and we didn't carry one. We finally got him fixed up, took about 45 minutes to get it to slowly stop bleeding, had to hold him on his back and pack quick clot in it, then wrapped it.

Anyways, all that aside, we got into the habit of leaving a kit in the dogbox just in case we or the dogs would need it. We take it along on all road trips and when hunting during the week. Here's a list of what's in ours, I'm sure they vary but we put this one together ourselves, it's a bigger one, we made two others that were smaller...You can get all this stuff pretty cheap at Wal-Mart and Tractor Supply...

-1 Bottle Blood Stop Powder (16 oz bottle, located in Cattle section at Tractor Supply, best stuff I've ever used to stop bleeding)
-1 Can Solarcain First Aid Medicated Spray (13 oz bottle @ Wal-Mart, cuts the pain and sanitizes)
-1 Sterile Combine Pad (5" x 9")
-3 Packs Clear Wound Closure Strips (5 strips per pack)
-12 Triple Layer Non-Stick Pads (2" x 3")
-1 Roll Waterproof Medical Tape
-1 Roll Black Electric Tape (Really comes in handy!)
-1 Roll Vetrap Bandaging Tape (we like the different colors lol, can get them in the Horse section at Tractor Supply)
-1 Roll Sterile Gauze
-15 Alcohol Wipes
-1 Triangular Bandage (40" x 40" x 56")
-1 Small Syringe
-Latex Gloves
-Tweezers
-Small Medical Scissors
-Q-Tips
-Small Squirty Bottle Peroxide
-Teramycin Eye Ointment (comes in handy if your dog gets in a wheat/bean/corn field on a hunt)
-Triple Antibiotic Ointment
-Small Bottle Baby Aspirin
-Bag Balm
-NewSkin

I was also looking for a skin stapler, they have them and staples for sale in the Lion Country Supply catalogue, for a fairly decent price too. Could've really used one when Mister cut his foot!

Here is a pic of the tree...

i carry a small first aid kit along with plenty of rags and super glue. ive had plenty of dog injuries and super glue is about the best thing you can use to fix them up until you can get to the vet if needed.
