I have a pup that is 6 months old and will be 7 months the 15th and he weighs 40 lbs and is 20 inches tell from feet to his shoulders. And i am 5'9 and he comes to my knee cap. Do you think this hound is going to be small or will he grow?

sounds just right to me i thank the standards should be
cut 2 inches cross the board

what would the reason to cut 2 inches off the height . sounds like another of those if you can't breed to a standard change the standard

hes deffinatly going to be small, by that age they don't get much taller although he will fill out. Our 4 mnth old pups are just about the 40 lbs lol, but I think their goin to be BIG females.

well i dont know i hope he dont cause i dont really like a small dog and i figured he would grow some more till he is 8 months old then you could tell how big he would be

plus i have two other hounds one 3 years old and is 24 inches and tall and so is the 5 year old 24 inches tall so i believe he will grow

Dont ever worry about, or count on, a dog's size until they're 2 years old...until then anything can happen.

50-55 lbs should get you 25 inches in health running shape not
to long.
60-65 lbs 26 inches
70-75 lbs 27 inches
some puppies are full grown at 6mth and some are not till a yr

He'll grow,no doubt about it.He will probably make a 55/60 lb dog,which is about perfect.Might get a little larger.
I have 6,8 and ten month old pups here and they are still growing.
