Running The Tree

I dont think there is a way to break a dog from running the tree.

Do you folks have any ideas?

The dog I have will not run the tree if tied up.

Thanks, Jim

real hard huntin can settle them down a little bit, but basically that is their genetic tree style, just like a dog that likes to stand on the tree or one that chews, you go to trying to change their treeing style, and you are more than likely going to hurt their treeing along with it...just my two cents

That is what I thought.

Running the tree & falling out can get themsleves in trouble.

Any other comments?

good luck with your hounds, if your having problems...I have known several hounds that climbed trees, very few lived to be old dogs....

I have a young 20 month old male that runs up the tree 6-8 feet.
Then falls down & then right back up.

He has a first & second in UKC. I am afraid he will land on a
dog & all hell will break out.

Thanks for your comments. Jim
