Jay Boswell is a lawyer in Ga. that has been successful in some cases like this. Not sure if he can help you in this case but he may be able to point you in the right direction. Hope this helps.

If someone was to shoot my dog in front of me I would probably either be dead or in jail. There would be no possible way I could hold myself back. I just wouldnt be able too. It wouldnt be one of those get ya later deals action would have been taken rite then and there.

Why

This seems to be the third or fourth posting on this subject. How often does this happen? Is it more common in certin areas? What is the motive behind it usually?

If it was some guy protecting his cattle and confused about things I might understand it, but is this just people that hate hounds that hunt?

.............jmo...............but it is becoming more and more common because there are more and more city folks moving out into the country and buying 3-5 acres......then they act like they own the whole county.................didn't get a dog shot, but had trouble a few years ago..................guy had 3 acres..............I had permission to hunt 2,000 acres that bordered his 3 acres............dogs treed ON THE LAND I HAD PERMISSION TO HUNT, but about 100 yards from the property line.......guy calls the cops because my hounds were causing his foo foo dogs to bark...........luckily, our county sherriff coon hunted, and set the guy straight in a big way............hate it, but stuff like this is going to happen more and more with suburban expansion, small "gentleman" farms, etc............

Verfiable information is a must! Have a vet do an autopsy and get a report. If you can take photos of the area from many different angles it will help. Document as much as possible.

Jeff

There is an article in this months bloodline that has a lot of good information take a look at it. Start putting all your information of this event down on paper. when you go to court get the common weath attorney to runa criminal history on the guy who shot that dog. you can put all of your material together yourself and you don't need an attorney because the commonweath attorney should represent you. just get your case prepared.
