SportMix or Diamond?

I am going to have to switch feed due to availability. Three grown walker hounds is what I feed. I have it narrowed down to Diamond brand and the SportMix brand, both of which I think are the best feeds that I can get within reasonable driving distance of my house.
Which one would you all choose and why?
Thanks for the input!!

Diamond

I feed diamond maintenance in the summer and hi-energy in the winter. I am very satisfied. I also used the extreme athlete for one of my dogs in the winter to help keep the weight on her.

Both good

I have a Plott on Diamond Lamb & Rice because he's allergic to corn. All other dogs are on Sportmix (Black & Gray bag) & dogs do very well on it. I fed Purina for 20+ years but Purina stopped delivering to my feedstore because Wal Mart became their only customer, based on (per my feedstore owner) the fact that Wal Mart gets 26 truckloads of Purina a month vs the feedstore's 2 truckloads per month & I can't put up with loading & unloading dogfood & also standing in line to pay for it so switched to Sportmix after reading ALL the nutritional labels at the feedstore for a final decision. The Diamond is about $3 a bag more for 10lbs. less in the bag.

I feed the Sportmix Premium 26/18 in the blue bag year round. Good feed and I am very satisfied with it. I have fed Purina Dog Chow, Pride, Joy and Black Gold before and the only one that compares to the Sportmix was the Black Gold but they are very close.

I have fed both

I prefer the SportMix 24/20 over Diamond less clean up and the hounds looked great on it.

SportMix is what I feed and been happy with for the last few years now..........I am trying the Southern States Advance feed on a couple dogs right now to compare the differences.

skyblu, SportMix makes a L&R that is corn free.

Sportmix 24/20

I feed the Sportmix 24/20 after Diamond killed the dogs I've stayed clear of it ever since.

I am feeding the Diamond premium adult and I am fixing to throw it in the dumpster as well. My dogs are losing weight, stool is runny, and they dont seem to have any energy anymore. I was feeding black gold but my local feed store ran out so I tried the diamond brand. I will NEVER buy it again. I have heard good things about Exceed and one of my hunting partners swears by it. Hopefully I can get back on the Black gold. Thats my opinion on Diamond feeds.

We fed the Diamond Naturals Line for four years and loved the results. Recently we had to switch because of it's increasing cost. ($27.99/40# bag) We switched to the purple bag (26/18) of Hi-Standard and couldn't be more pleased. The dogs do great on it and there's minimal clean-up/small, solid stools. We can get it for $19/50# bag so that's a lot better too....

dog food

I feed diamond High Energy 24/20.I managed a co-op for five years and sold both diamond and sportmix. There is really very little difference in the two.I never stopped feeding diamond even during the bad feed scare. The bad feed was linked to one bad batch of corn that had alphatoxin in it.However it was only used in one plant and only in certain variety's of the dog food.I am aware that some dog's were made sick or killed but I think Diamond handled the whole thing very well. That being said my hounds do great on Diamond.

We have a female that is hard to keep weight on and we tried Diamond and Black and Gold and she didn't do all that well on either. We've had her on Pzazz now and are really happy with it. She has kept her weight up - even with nursing 8 good sized puppies - and all the dogs have good energy and are easy to clean up from. Only costs us $21.50 for an actual 50 pound bag. Couldn't even get a 50 pound bag of either of the others closest we came to was 44 and they cost more!

I feed Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice due to my 3 yr old Plott being allergic to chicken and corn. Both the pup and her are doing great on it...shiny coats, small stools not runny at and TONS of energy.
