I agree .... these ads on dogs with no pups started , they don't tell you anything about the dog or have any or many references ... and want you to pay to breed to the dog ... they are really banking on parting a fool and his money .

I think that if those guys quit advertising their studs the magazines will all go bankrupt and we won't have anything to read in the bathroom.

I don't know about too many stud dogs but I believe there are way too many puppies. It seems that everyone who has a female wants to get more pups on the ground.

I doubt it! A lot more of them now than years past, because of the number of hunts and small number of entries. However for every one you read about, you can bet 50 are tied behind the barn, not advertised.
As for two year olds being advertised with out pups old enough to back them up as reproducers...that can have advantages/disadvantages. It may be their pedigree, in this age of All-Grand that is a priority to some. Their winnings..2yr. old and Grand Nt., Some one did somthing! An ad without references, but a PHONE NO. Thats OK by me...I intend to do a lot more research than that ad. The key would be to know WHO is writting that ad and what those blood lines are know for in ability.
Some where in those pages of ads is another Ace, Lipper, Kojak, Diamond Jim, etc. You the breeder (owner of the gyp) may have to gamble on a young stud. If you wait for him to prove himself, he may be 7-8 yrs old. Nothing wrong with that, that is your choice as the breeder.

Nope, there are not too many. By having many choices it allows individuals who are actually breeding towards a goal to search out dogs that fit their needs better.

I have often thought one of the strength's of the walker breed is its diversity.

Of course the numbers can increase the work of diligent breeders to find the best mate.

I don't see anything wrong with getting information on too many stud dogs. You don't have to breed to them because they run an ad, lol.

I'd rather have the info. and sort through it, than not have the info. and maybe miss a stud I'd like to have bred to.
