Long time Treeing Walker fancier , Rick Freed, died today of a heart attack. Rick was a third generation coonhunter. Rick was 49 years old. Rick and I have hunted together for 25 plus years. When everyone else was snowed in and growling about cabin fever we were out chasing hounds. I'll miss our trips to the "mountains" of Pa and him growling at his nephew for losing another leash. You'll be missed, My Friend.

I remember Rick from the 70s early 80's also Harold Freed at Beaver County Coonhunters Club... Way too young to be passing from a heart attack.. Prayers up for his family..

Rick was one of a kind. I remember back in the early 90s Jeff Stallard and myself went over and stayed and hunted with Rick a few nights and had a great time. That was the first time I had met Rick he invited me in his home and treated me like a king. If everyone on earth was like Rick it would be alot better place. Rest In Peace Rick. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Rick Freed was one of my favorite people in the coonhound circles. I just talked to Rick at the Beaver Falls RQE a couple weeks ago. I and many others will miss him.

So sorry to hear this. Can't say I knew him personally, but drew him for a judge and guide at a hunt down that way many moons ago and he was deffinatley first class and as good as it gets.
