My daughter is in 3rd grade in a public school in Michigan. Today she brought home a "children's newspaper" handed out by her teacher called "KIND NEWS Jr. Edition" published by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).

In the paper there were multiple references to hunting as being responsible for endangered species.

There was also an article dedicated to ANTI FUR propaganda stating that "wearing fur was once a symbol of wealth and style. Today people are deciding not to wear fur. They realize that animals need their fur more than people do."

The HSUS is NOT AFFILIATED WITH YOUR LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY.

In fact, despite using dogs and cats in their fundraising materials, they do not run a single spay/neuter program or take in stray, neglected or abused pets. They are simply the wealthiest ANIMAL RIGHTS ORGANIZATION on earth that wants to completely abolish all hunting and trapping.

I'm going to visit the Superintendent tomorrow with proof of the HSUS agenda and demand that no more of these get handed out, ever.

IF YOU DONATE MONEY TO THEM PLEASE STOP. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO DONATES MONEY PLEASE ASK THEM TO STOP.

THE HSUS IS ON A MISSION TO INDOCTRINATE YOUNG PEOPLE INTO THEIR CAUSE WHILE OUR CHILDREN ARE SO YOUNG AND IMPRESSIONABLE! IT MUST STOP!

CHECK WITH YOU LOCAL SCHOOL SYSTEM TO MAKE SURE THIS IS NOT HAPPENING TO YOU!

You are wrong. Taking the attitude that one person can not institute change or fight the system is what the anti's count on.

One of the strongest mechanisms of change is education. Always remain respectful and calm and do your best to refrain from any emotionism. Present verifiable fact such as to the real agenda of the HSUS with quotes right off their webpage and propaganda.

Present the information to the teacher if that doesn't get change go to the principle, and then the PTA, and then the Board of Education if you have too. You may not win, but if you sway one undecided individual it wasn't a total loss.

A good fight is not always an easy fight, but that doesn't lessen its importance.

I am always on the look out for this type of propoganda in my kids papers they bring home. I am quick to jump the gun and my wife kinda counterbalances me. Nevertheless, she knows what will happen if some of the crap turns up. Especially in the yuppy school system that my kids go to. Silence will not be an option. Last year my sons teacher was a younger woman. She was also a vegan. I watched her like a hawk and to her credit, none of that belief system made it through my door. I don't know what was done in class but I never heard my son talk about it so I assume she was on the up and up. His teacher this year is a younger fella and it wouldn't surprise me if he is a little light in his loafers too. He has made himself a known AR geek several times and I have actually started to call in an airstrike before being calmed by Mama Bear. He is dangerously close to gettin' a size 12 straight up "his" love chute! My son hunts and traps with me and is excited about it. If this moron tries to take it from him, he just crossed Papa Bear. I bet he'll have wished that he was raised where keeping score counts.

I remember certain teachers (elementary through high school) having a HUGE influence about my outlook on life. The teacher handing out HSUS propaganda is, in effect preaching her "religion" to the kids - and that's crossing the line of correct subjects. We have plenty of info at our fingertips that clearly show the true colors of HSUS/PETA. And that info is POWERFUL ammunition - we should ALL use it to educate the public as well as our politicians.

I have been to see a public school super twice in the last three years. The first was for peta literature being handed out in a children's format in the disguise of learning about animal welfare. The second was over teachers pushing O'bama during the last election time.

All I can say is that their time is valuable, so have your complaint and facts ready and be able to find them on the internet quickly. I just made a phone call and told them I had a complaint and that I would like a short meeting with them. Both times I was given a meeting within three days.

As has been stated before, most people do not realize the agendas of the animal rights movement. All they have ever seen is the sensational adds of starving or injured animals. My meeting was a real eye opener for the super and his secretary. The school no longer accepts literature from peta or hsus.

The o'bama thing wasn't as easy, but they heard me out. I told them that it was inappropriate for leaders like teachers to be trying to form political beliefs in young minds. Of course, the teachers union was all for o'bama and they felt it was alright to state their minds, but it was agreed that they were pushing a little much. Not the result I wanted, but, I was heard.

I am no rich man or big man in town. I am just another taxpayer, but I kept my head and came prepared, and I was treated fairly both times.

I thought this was appropriate for this thread - Kentucky residents might want to make some phone calls - other states better keep a close eye on your legislators....

HCR 121- the resolution that would encourage public schools to include
humane education in the curriculum.
This bill gives an open door to animal rights extremists such as PETA,
HSUS and other like minded organizations to spread their propaganda
during school hours.
It is INAPPROPRIATE for animal rights organizations to be given a foot
in the door to our schools, where they can brainwash young minds.
