Just checked onto it myself. Until June 1 a D.L. and birth certificate is good. After June 1 a passport is required. I just sent mine in and they said it is taking about 4 weeks to get one.

If you are driving you can still use a DL and a birth cert. until June 1st but, if you are flying you need a passport.

Just get a passport "card", good for land travel and costs about 45 bucks, good for ten years

You dont need it to get here just to get back. The Canadian gov't does not require it, the US gov't does.
