Dave,
I learned way more than what I asked about...that much is for sure. Mr. Strange is a walking encyclopedia concerning the history of Walker dogs....I would venture to say that he has fogotten more (and he has not forgotten much) about walker dogs of the past than most of us know combined.
Sounds like Ellie was one of his all time favorite Lone Pine dogs. She is immortilized in stone in front of his home.....
I bred a female that goes back to Eileen on the bottom side, and I am getting one of those pups....I could not find any history on Eileen other than her PAD and the history on one litter of pups. He filled me in on her hunting style, her mother's hunting style, her daddy's hunting style, her grandmother and grandfathers hunting style...about six generations worth of her ancestors, and about three generations of her offspring!
I didn't take notes, but I can assure you of this....I will wish that I had!
Joe with a memory like yours Im sure that you wont need that note pad. You talking to him is about how I talking to you.LOL
