Tie your Bluetick close by. He won't bother the coons none but will scare all the possums away.

Longer nipple. I use a 1 inch stainless nipple about five inches long. Oppossum cant reach up in there. Could be good in a hunt if yours is solid broke.

awww, if they cant take a little innocent humor they deserve to be pi$$ed off.

seriously though the longer nipple sounds like it would work to keep possums out. i dont know much about feeders but do possums eat soured corn? seems like i read somewhere souring the corn would keep out unwanted varmints.

Try this, works very good for Coon, and Possom wont bother it.
Take a Tire, Hang it up in a tree, with the bottom of the tire about Chest high. Fill the bottom of the tire with Corn, Cover the Corn with water, make it so the Coon has to reach through the watter to get the corn.
A good spot for this is usually by a creek. When you get ready to turn loose on this feeder, shine the feeder with your light.
If the side of the tire is wet, you have a Coon right there close, and your hounds will have a red hot Coon track to run.

If the tire is dry, skip it, and go to the next one.

sounds like you got a dog problem not a bucket problem. save all that money you are spending on feed and go buy yourself a real coondog.

I think trash around feed buckets is a good thing...helps you train more effectively. Just cuz you stop em from eating on the bucket doesn't mean there aint 20 opposum hanging around 30 yards from there.

Thats why the Water over Corn Feeder is so good, Rats wont touch it, If you hang it high eneough the Hogs wont be able to get it, and the only thing that will eat it is a Coon.
Try it. When you use a feeder bucket, your drawing up everything in the woods.

I put out a feeder to see what it was like, its been out for over a month, I haven't see any signs of anything hitting it, but I have noticed a large increase in possums around. I filled it with dog food and it is still full. Possums everywhere now.

I'm not suprised about the possums, but this feeder is in heavy coon and they aren't hitting it. I have a game camera on it and haven't got a picture yet.

the day i tell anyone my dog wont do something is the day i dont own any dogs, the day i have so many problems with feeders that i have to go to a message board for advice is the day i get a new dog to where i dont have to hunt on feeders.
