What happens if...

A club does not follow the proper steps in the FORMAL COMPLAINT process?

then there is a formal complaint written against them, call ukc and let them know they will send you the papers

here's what happened:

I filed a formal complaint at a hunt last year...

A month or 2 passed before I heard or received anything.
The only thing I received was a letter from UKC stating that they had the complaint on file and ruled against my complaint.

I never received any kind of letter from the club.

Last night at our club meeting we were going over formal complaints... and I read that the club had to write a response to each person listed in the complaint on their ruling.

I never received anything from the club I filed the complaint with, only UKC?

I never recieved anything from the club and as far as I know there is nothing required from anyone except UKC.

i have never heard the club should send you anything or do anything at all for you.

Step 2:
If the question is not resolved at step 1, request and complete a Formal Complaint Form and return it to the Master of Hounds no later than thirty (30) minutes after the posted deadline to return scorecards. The form must be signed by the individual or individuals making the Formal Complaint and the Master of Hounds and COPIES PROPERLY DISTRIBUTED TO UKC, THE HOST CLUB, THE COMPLAINANTS AND MASTER OF HOUNDS.

When you filled out the complaint you should have gotten the pink copy out of the formal complaint form. I don't think the club has to respond they just have to give you the pink copy. At least that's what the rule you quoted states. Now if the club simply didn't give you the pink copy....... seems like a pretty small thing to get upset about but I don't know the situation so..... maybe there is a penalty for that. Not sure if that penalty would be to the club or the MOH.

No, no not upset at all... just used my situation as an example because at our meeting the other night, the question arose of what clubs had to do if a formal complaint is filed through Hunt Director format.

A few guys at the club were saying that they had remembered having to send everything out to all involved in the complaint, etc., etc.

I may be mistaken and just forgot, but I don't remember getting anything.
