Gussy Allen's mother, Shelby Allen is currently in ICU in Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She has been ill for many months and in and out of the hospital, but now doctors have told them that she may only have hours to live. She is a fighter and has struggled to hang on to life, but the family believes that the good Lord is calling her Home.

Needless to say this has been hard on the family...Gussy has a brother Sammy and 2 sisters Bobbie Jo and Sheila. Gussy's wife Tina has been right there with Gussy and is his rock right now helping him get through this. I know they have both been up now at the hospital for hours and are exhausted.

I was just wanting to let all their friends know what they are going through and to say that if you would care to say a little prayer for them, they would appreciate it.

For the Allen family and friends as well... We pray for comfort for all of them during this difficult time. It if is indeed time for Mrs. Allen to leave her family for now...she will live on in their hearts and be in a better place with no illnesses. We pray that she feel comfort and the love of her God as well.

Gussy's Mom has been moved to a hospice bed. She is still hanging on...talk about a fighter. Today, the hospice nurse expressed surprise she has lasted this long in her condition. Her respirations are only about 3 per min and her body organs are shutting down. The family is ready to let her go. It is very difficult for them to watch her day after day. I believe they've said their good byes and are just waiting until she is ready to go.

Anyone who has gone through something like this knows how difficult it is to watch someone they love in this kind of condition.

I just hope it ends soon. Continue prayers please!

As of this morning, Shelby Allen is STILL hanging in there. Her hospice nurses are amazed. One of them predicted yesterday it would be only minutes. Then, they predicted she probably would not last the night...yet she did.

This is really wearing on the family. They are all exhausted!!!

I saw Gussy and Tina yesterday and Gussy asked about this thread and how he wanted it printed out to keep. He takes it to heart that people care enough to think of them at this time. So, if you know them, take a few seconds to let them know.
