i just moved to tennessee, just north of chattanooga, do you need to hunt off feeder buckets, i lived in michigan my whole life and it was infested with coon...some info would be helpfull if someone could...thanks james
No, the coon population is the same. Down here we have as many coon as in michigan. What your going to discover is that the dog quality will drop off tremendously. Those dog's up there just know how to get those coons treed. Down here were lucky if we tree one or two coons a night. If your bringing dogs with you from up there you'll discover that there intelligence and coondog ability will dramatically decrease soon after being in the south. There's no remedy for this except these round, white, 5 gallon buckets filled with corn or dog food. This seems to help somewhat, especially if your on a competition hunt with a paid proffesional handler. I don't know exactly why you chose the south over the north but I wish you the best of luck.
just kidding. We have some coons but not anything close to whats up north. Good luck.
