Lay ups and Hot tracks

I'm puzzled a lil bit my 13month old pup usually gives me a few barks before he trees maybe 1 to 3 barks, but when he hits a hot track he's barking every few seconds until he trees it,I was wondering is he treeing lay ups one the tight mouth tracks? What do you think?Oh on the tight tracks I have caught him just checking trees.

I got a young dog here that was the same way. He`d open just before he treed, after being layed up through the dead of winter this spring he`s opening fast, I think for him he just didn`t have the confidence on the colder tracks to open until he`d warmed them up some. Give him time to gain the confidence.
