My son and I went out last night with a new dog we just bought. Second time for him to the woods with us. 4 year old walker dog. He set in treeing on a cottonwood tree that was blown over, at about a 45 degree angle. I was a little concerned when we walked in for I figured coon lost him on the down tree. After looking for a bit about head hi was a hole that Scooter crawled up above and went to realy baying in it. I got where I could look down the hole and about 1 1/2 foot below the opening set mr. coon. Ole scooter and him took turns bringing blood. But after a while of petting and telling him how good of a dog he was we led him off and the coon lived to run another day. Told my son that we probable got more good out of that coon than a dozen up a tall tree.

Love the story...with the chance of disappointment turning to pleasure instead... Also great the coon gets to run again tomorrow.... That last picture is Really neat witht he dogs leg reaching into the hole!

Sounds like a good time !!! That's right the coon is just out of reach for the dog to get him, he will want one tomorrow night even more than if he chewed on that one... Nice Pics.
