Obama/Blagojevich Discussion

Just wanted some opinions on this topic???

I'm pretty that Obama would have talked to the Gov. about his own senate seat, not saying Obama had any wrong doing in this, just makes you scratch your head..

I guess the way I look at it, is that this gov. has been in the Chicago society of politcs and raised to act as he has.

I also think if it were not Obama's seat we were talking about, it wouldn't be a big deal, it would just be another Chicago deal the way it has been for years.

I think if Obama did have anything to do with this deal, it will be covered up pretty well to avoid any further negativity about this for Obama. We all know this isn't the worst thing to be going on in politics and won't be the last. If Clinton could swear under federal oath that he "didn't have relations with that woman" and still have the many people that supported him than why would this be any different.

I truely hope Obama didn't do anything wrong in this case, we need to get our country moving forward again and this would only slow growth if proven to be a fact for Obama.

first of all I'm not pretty about Obama

second, it is interesting wonder how Obama got the seat to begin with.... wonder if there was any hanky goin on with contributions or after he was in there????

but hes proven to be smart enough to get this far... we'll never know...or it will be to late....

I'm on the fence with this one, there is so much corruption in our politics that if were going to hold someone to the line we need to start digging real deep across the board. Its bad on both sides and down the middle. lol

First they said Obama or his staff has never spoke with the gov about the senate seat, then after they found out they were on tape their story changed. That makes me think something.

they are all crooked, just some have not be caught yet.

I guess that I am a SLOW LEARNER?

A little over 4 years ago, OBAMA was a state senator. He drove ( about 350 miles) down here to Randolph County at the request of Democratic Committee Chairman Fred Frederking Jr. of Coulterville. for a Democrtic fundraiser. Now I'm not sure how much he was getting paid as a state senator but I'm sure it wasn't more than $125,000. Then 2 years as a U.S. senator, & he is now a MULTA-MILLIONAIR.

Someone please explain how in a little over 4 years, getting State & U.S. senator pay, that he became a MULTA- MILLIONAIR, without doing some SHADY DEALS.

If the TRUTH was known, OBAMA would make BLAGOJEVICH look like a street drug dealer compared to some of HIS DEALS.

WE WILL NEVER KNOW THE TRUTH TO THIS MESS.

obama made the $$$ from two best selling books, his wife had a very good job too, but the books are the source of his $$$, believe it is legal to make $$$ that way...
no doubt that someone on his staff would speak to the gov. about the senate seat, sure have also spoken to the gov. of n.y. about the hillary vacany.... common sense would indicate that the president elect would want to know who might be app't. to the senate since his administration will be working closely with congress...

no one comes up through chicago politics as fast as obama did w/o corruption. he has links to blago, rezko, the daily machine ect.

its awful funny that obamas choice pulled herself out of contention. with 21 phone conversations and with blago stating obama isnt willing to pay him anything, i think obama and his team were well aware of what was going on, and they did not notify any of the appropraite authorities-as the pres elect that is disgusting.

oh btw, how about holder's omission.

intersting how someone from ga. would be an expert on thw inner workings of chicago poltics-lo... no doubt that chicago has mastered the art of poltical wheeling-dealing, sure it exists in other cities-states as well... no doubt that obama was a quick study when it came to poltics and what it takes to move ahead in chicago.... bottom line he is the president elect period.... soft $$$ needs to be eliminated from all elections, would go long ways toward curbing the rampant corrruption in our poltical system, found at all levels and in both parties.....

Obama = CROOK="Chicago thug" political machine

Anyone notice how all these crooks are ties together??

Obama,Rezko, Blago-,Ayers, etc, etc, etc.

And yet, somehow, Obama claims to be as pure as the wind driven snow.

john,
best check what kind of $$$ a best seller brings, course we can all believe whatever we choose regardless of facts, for us our personal reality is our fact and trumps what is actual truth... hope the new president is not only able to talk the talk, but also walk the walk....

typical liberal elitist attitude, all the book smarts but no common sense, and wouldnt have an original idea if it wasnt for PBS. always trying to deflect the topic at hand. yes the people spoke, but it wasnt a mandate for change, it was 52%, 48% of the people rejected that crap, and of the 52% you and I both know a good portion had no clue of the issues other than the dem candidate was black.

the prese elect knew blago was trying to sell the seat and did nothing about.

the pres elect lied about having conversations on the subject.

here it is in black and white.

guess time will tell, no matter who was elected tough job.... see several republicans in the cabinet, one I know congressman ray lahood from peoria, il... believe that the electoral mandate was pretty substantial, the public wanted change after the bush yrs. etc... and sure that was a factor, also Obama, like him-agree with him or not is charismatic and has the ability to attract people, believe he will be much more moderate than many would anticipate... wish him well and great success, the nation-world need to move forward together now, put what divides us aside and seek common ground for the good of all...

I'm not an Obama supporter, but this statement is pretty well written. I just wish we would see a little less of the old Clinton cabinet in there with Obama. I hope it's a change as he promised, but it looks to be a 3rd term for the Clinton Administration...

I do really hope he can pull some miracles and walk on water as most of his supporter's would like to think...LOL

Come now fellas. Realize one thing. The majority of those voting decided to send the old guard out and bring in the new. It is the holier than though, I am always right attitude that has us in this shape now. Why can't the republican party loosen their belts just a tad, drop down here with the rest of us, and represent all of us? Our, I'm gonna do whatever I want to do, president has now come up with a loan plan for the big 3. Do the majority of Americans want it? No. But he does, so here it goes again. I will be glad when he says goodbye. By the way, McCain had my vote til he picked Palin. Will she pardon her daughters future inlaws of the drug charges they were just charged with? Give me a break on this one. Stupid move by McCain. Family values, yeah right.

Guys, guys, don't badmouth obama. There are several gunshops with his picture on their wall as salesman of the month. Seems they can't keep the little black rifles in stock and there are individuals buying ammo by the pallet. Look it up for yourself. Can't wait till he tries to mess with the second amendment, or for that matter anything else.

He has about as much of a chance to take our guns as the republicans have at reversing Roe v Wade. Nobody needs a gun that shoots 60 rounds per minute that is not in military uniform.

Do you honestly think the new Bail out was an all Bush idea?? Come on, you wanna talk about using your head...Bush has been against the bail out for awhile now, as he said..he felt he couldn't in good faith leave this for the new Pres to have to deal with. Do you really believe Obama didn't have ahand in this matter?? Obama has said for quit sometime that he will resolve the bailout as soon as he takes office. He even has aplan to further help the big 3 if this doesn't work for them....Everyone wants to blame Pres. Bush for all the problems...economy,war...etc...etc. Pres. Bush has a cabinet and others giving advice on what to do and how to do it, he also has to pass congress to put a new bill into law most of the time. Our problems are not Dem. or Rep., they are problems that stem from an overall society breakdown. From wall street to main street, everyone is looking to get rich quick and only thinking of personal benefit. We need to come together as a country and remember "we the people of the United States of America" not I of America. We all share a bit of the blame wether to admit it or not????

rance,
GOP in the Obama cabinet include, Sec. of Defense Gates, Sec. of Transportation LaHood, 14 yrs. GOP congressman from peoria, il. know him, most likely National Security and Vet. Affairs are that, a centerist cabinet, is lacking southerners though.... this is a group that will not be just the yes man, thank you mam, ok mam type that has come to be the model in d.c., more diverse in thought-makeup...
