ya stay put tree dog/slick no trash ya dang that dog moved that track fast/trash off game. I have found over the years I have found. that I end up breaking my pups off of more problems. then if I just stay with other training teckniques.

Nate if you have a real pup trainer your pup will not learn bad behaviors from the older dog. For instance if you run a pup with a dog that runs trash, your dog will follow. If your pup trainer is too fast for the pup to keep up you wl have a pup that does a bunch a dog tracking.you just have to be careful what you run with. If used properly( as with any other tool) a pup trainer can teach a pup slot faster and better than you can alone

My diea of a pup trainer...

A laid back old dog that has nothing to prove, honestly loves treeing coon. Not mean, accurate, a real straight arrow, taddle tale is even better, one that lets pups jump all over them and wont budge or growl..just lives to tree a coon, no matter what's happening at the tree. Has NO bad habits at the tree like climbing, chewing, or leaving. Pretty easy to find really...yeah right! I have an old girl here as good a pup trainer as you could find...I consider myself very lucky to have her here.

I have to agree that there are very few GOOD pup trainer old dogs. I have seen a FEW, and most are not what most people want to hunt.
