tricks on finding a treed coon
I am fairly new to this coon hunting, but when i was a kid my dad always seemed to find the coon fairly easy. After 20 yrs I have decided to take coon hunting back up with my son, we have a nice walker female and a bluetick pup thats showing great promise. We are getting plenty trees, 4-5 a night whith in 2-3 hrs time. some have been dens, The problem is i am having one heck of a time finding them, is there a trick? squallers, lens caps.... we need some advice. The way we usually do it is walk up to the tree and look for a dark spot in the tree, then turn our light very dim looking for eyes, if no luck we then crack up the volts and continue to look. we are not having much luck. Thanks
