Getting Sick In Dogbox

I have a six month old pup that gets sick in the dogbox. He will vomit in the box if you feed him in the afternoon, and If you just feed him in the morning, he will drool non-stop until he gets out the box. He has probably been hauled in the dogbox 15 times. Is it something he will get used to/grow out of, or will it always be a problem.

Through the years

I've noticed that MOST pups outgrow the travel sickness problem. The best way to deal with it has been to NOT feed them within 6 - 8 hours of loading them for travel. For adults, someone recommended the non-drowsy Dramomine. I tried Dramomine on one dog an hour before loading & it reduced the vomiting & dry heaves to drooling.

Give em a motion sickness pill a hour or two before you haul the pup.I've done this for a couple of young dogs and it works.Usually you only have to give it to them a few times until they get used to riding in the box.

When I start hunting a pup I haul him or her every where, like to town, In cool weather I have took them to work. I took food and water tied them out at break and lunch it works great. I do this for about a week.
