I just cancelled my subscription to Homestead, the place I have posted my web pages for years. I felt like they were trying to rip me off. Either I had to give them a credit card number where they could bill me automatically with rate increases without my permission (they did that for the last time last year) or I had to subscribe (overpriced) for 2 years with a check payment. I offered to send a check for 1 years subscription but they found that unacceptable. So, I am looking for a new web site host. Anyone got any suggestions?

There are many different web hosting services and I have thumbed through a ton of them. I build web sites as a part time job and I would highly recommend iPower web.

http://www.ipowerweb.com/. The have great service, and they will actually give you a discount for paying for an entire year at a time!

Oak, I am sure I couldn't build one as well as you but I would like to do my own if possible. I will check ipower out. I need one where I wouldn't have to use html coding. I probably could do one that way but it would take forever. Thanks.

redtick i have one at lycos its slow but real easy and price is reasonable.... have one at yahoo. its faster to make pages but cant seem to get metatags right doesnt show on search engines like the other.. i need something i can work on myself . make changes anytime i want and i dont have any software to do it.. pete

Microsoft Frontpage,and have it hosted at www.theaardvark.com They are very good,and cheap,ya get three email accounts,and 50 meg of space,for $6 a month,I got a domain name and all through them,for less then $100.00 a year,check them out,tell Mitch I sent ya!

You can build it yourself. That is why I suggested Ipower. They have what they call a "sitebuilder" service. No HTML to learn, just select from thier menu......

I've used them for a couple of years. They have free pages (with banner or popup ads required) or pages you pay for each month. They also have templates in their site builder, or an ftp server for people to use their own code, if they want to. You can check them out at www.tripod.com

Oak, I sure appreciate your offer to help and I may ask for your assistance. And, I really appreciate your tip on where to build my site. I am going to check out all of these sites and I may build on more than one. I have found wep pages very usefull in the past and don't want to be without one very long. I had about 17,000 hits registered on my last one.

This is who I have got my site with and they are great to work with. A one time set-up fee of $81 and you can build as many websites as you want, with as many pages as you want. They have got LOTS of options.
