From what I have researched and heard Garmin is the overall best, but there are others that will do the job . Garmin has many models and prices so check around I use garmin and it has always been spot on. Good luck.

I've got a no frills Garmin that took me from Ky to Montreal and back, no problems with it. Have to say I'd buy another Garmin in the future.

i drive over 100,000 miles a year and the lowrance 600c is the best i have seen and easy to use

I have had the magellan from the first one that come out and have just tried out almost all of the others and ended up buying another magellan and love it.

Best GPS

The biggest things I would concern myself with is a having 4" screen, and ability to update maps and if you travel to Canada or Mexico, you need one that has North America or you'll have to pay for those maps.

I can share map corrections, etc. with others and I can input mapping corrections. I have taken mine all over WY and across the country to the east coast and I wasn't ever without a satellite signal.

I also used it up in Canada. You are dependent on the mapping folks to update their maps so some maps are wrong and not updated even on roads that have been where they are a long time.

I have a TomTom 720. It has more features than I was originally looking for, but I use the FM Transmitter all the time to play my MP3 music or books on tape over my car stereo system. I can also connect to my phone via bluetooth and I have a handsfree phone.

As alot of people know i'm a E-Bay junkie!!! Ha ha !! Before you buy one go there!! We have a Magelin and it works great. We had a Garmin at first and we had to take it back, problems with it downloading maps?? May have just been that one. Rob got this one for Christmas and I have now bought 2 for others off e-bay. You can get them for about half the price. Check into it before you buy. There great will never leave home without it.... See ya soon Ladonna
