My dad and I have not been seeing eye to eye on this, here's the question.

I just got a 3yr old female. She came from Arkansas and then spent a few days in Michigan and arrived here at my house at 1:30am on July 4th. She's as friendly as can be and comes to me in the kennel, but does try to run out. I haven't messed with her much aside from letting her bark at a coon. I have no clue how this dog will do on coon, but I was told she would run and tree with other dogs and do well on cage coon.
So, how long would you say this dog should settle in and get use to me and her surrounding before I hunt her?
I know every dog is different, but how long do you typically wait?

If shes friendly and not shy , Id take her tonight.. Just be sure to put a tracking collar on her and have fun!!!
