They are in North Alabama...................Me and buddy thought they had a coon in a hole until we got up on it and the dirt was flying out.

Haven't had any issues with them since.

Been seeing more and more along the roads around here.

They are in alot of the places I hunt..Before long they will be all over the state.I've been lucky and never had a dog that messed with em over a time or two...Those little ticks are SEEDTICKS!!!!!! I feel sorry for ya! They are killer..Youll wanna scratch your legs off..Best thing to avoid getting them is LOTS of perminone(sp) and keep your pants tucked inside your boots...

We got loads of dillers here in south Mo. 20 years ago they were rare but now I see them every night out hunting. They spread fast and seem to be all over here.

Most dogs dont like them that much , but when you get a dog that does like them , its a huge problem. Be thankfull most of you guys dont have them.... I cant find anything good about them...

we sure do have them and man do we have alot. In my experiance(unlike longshot) a young dog likes them alot, seems like one of the main things I have to break a dog from. We also have those little bitty ticks you talk about. We call them seed ticks and those things are horrible also. You can be walking along and look down and your pants leg is black, if they do that I just break off a cedar branch and goto smacking them off. I live in southern missouri also, close to springfield.

Tommy, you got that right !! LOL
We bought the jiggs hound a while back....Jiggs was raised/hunted in indianna then sold to a fella in mo.He was absolutely in love with the dillars...bought him from a fella in sw mo.Was told there were no dillars there and jiggs didn't mess with them while owned 2 weeks in that part of the world,JUST TRAILED A LITTLE TOO MUCH FOR HIS LIKING >wink<.

After many electrified nights, I do believe the ole boy has decided the dillars are way to painful. He now, at least the last 10 outs has shown no interest in opposum on the half shell. He trees coon on a consistant basis and is doing qite well.

In my opinion, the dillars are the most dreaded off game out there. When you have a hound that REALLY likes them....it will test ones patience like nothing else in the dark. I'll take the seed ticks anyday if I had choice between the two.

West TN has Dillers. I saw one just on the west side of Nashville, TN last trip that way. They are spreading northeast.

"Youns" need to have your Game Commission bring in something like they did here in Pa. for porkys. They brought in the fisher that is the only natural enemy of the porcupine. Of course, there must not have been any fisher where I was hunting last year when my 1 1/2 year old hound came out of the woods looking like he was wearing an Indian war bonnet...... Besides, what would eat an armor plated possum?????
