how long does it take?????????
how long does it take for you guys to tell if your female took after she was bred? are they a way to tell other than waiting to see if she swells up? my two got together twice for only about one to two minuets each time. does anyone know if she should have taken or not? thanks for any help... gary woods

Gary, if I was a bettin` man, which I`m not, I`d say you`ve got little Axes on the way, but I could be wrong. I`ve always been able to tell about half way through. If you have got pups on the way, you could`ve done alot worse. It could`ve been the neighbor`s yard dog or something else.

Choppin Axe
That is what happened with Hank and Molly. She took the last time that we bred them and 62 days later, out popped 10 Walker puppies.
We really couldn't tell with Molly until she was about 1/2-3/4 there. She's a really stock, deep chested female anyways and it's hard to tell when she's bred until she really starts swelling up.

If a female we had bred is not obviously showing at 30 days I take her in for a blood test at the vet. THey spin the blood down and put it on a test that looks like a human preg test you get at the drugstore, except you put blood on it instead of urine. It's not sensitive enough to sho earlier than about 30 days, and if they are going to have much of a litter they are usually showing by then. We've got a female here did an AI on the 16th, she'll be going in a week from friday for her test. You can also have an ultrasound done.
