Dog wormer

Are there any heart wormer out there that you can buy over the counter or are they all by perscription? I'm looking for something that covers hook worms, is there anything else I could use?

Buy a bottle of pyrantel poamate (Strongid) and a bottle of Ivomec 1% solution. Get a syring and draw up .5cc (one half of one cc) and then draw up 3-4 cc of pyrantel. Shoot mixture down the dogs throat once a month. Prevents heartworm and kills hooks and rounds.

I use Zimecterin Gold horse wormer. It has Ivermectin and the tapeworm medication in it. Tube of paste costs about $12 and will do about 10 dogs or 1 dog about 10 times. Can buy it at most feed stores. Retired Veterinarian told me about it. Been using it for several years.

Thanks for the info! The vet was going to charge us 10 dollars for 1 pill to do 1 dog under 50 lbs and 12 dollars for dogs over 50lbs per month.
