coonhound bloodlines mag ?

I was just thinking about why does the bloodlines only put the nite champion winner and the first place dogs in the hound part but in the beagles theirs up to 4th place I thought this was a coonhound magizine? I think that all plus point cast winners should get there names in it. If space in the mag. isnt possible how about adding it to the web site. Just wondering?

One reason is

that in some cases UKC has no idea if someone won a cast or not.On occassion there will be cast winners that do not place in the hunt because of not having a high enough score and these cast wins are not sent in to UKC by the clubs. We don't have to worry about that around my area because we never have that many hunting is one hunt but lot's of your bigger hunts would fit in this catagory. It would also take a lot of space in the magazine as well as a web site to accomplish your request.

Nite Ch ...... you either won the hunt or you also competed ..... the only place that matters is first.

you are only the first looser if you hunt head to head not if you are in different casts with different dogs in completly different hunting

I just meant that as a nite champion the only dog that gets recognized is the first place dog. I don't even think the other places go on the report. The larger hunts may give 1st place to more than one hound dependant on total number of dogs entered.

If you earn points toward a Night champion degree or you get a win toward grand, then that is an accomplishment. And as such, it should be listed on the event winners section of CB. Also, the guy who said that a second place win is the first looser is full of BS. The dog who gets second never competes against the winner. So, how can he be the first looser. The winner just hunted at better hunting spots.

One that note, how many of you would like to see a hunt-off type thing at the hunts? Let cast winners hunt it off for an hour. I've never hunted in a PKC event, so don't say that I'm just copying them. I just don't like loosing against someone that I haven't even competed against.

yeah, I like what poolecw said...and besides I wonder how in pkc you can win without even seeing a coon, couldn't that be why there are so many tree happy fools around??

I would like to see them take out those winners listings from the back of the magazine and get those pages to the beagles & cur trial hunters. After all,the medium & big events are already covered elsewhere in the magazine and why should anyone be interested in who won the so and so local hunt, the person that won/placed already know they did.

et hunter-be glad you don't hunt a cur,you get even less coverage.i can only guess but beagles being a new program i bet thay are doing them like the curs.placing dogs that are not cast winners making nt. ch. easier. i believe it is an effort to spark interest.i believe the hounds were the same years back.
